So I've seen some threads running around about Amity being like... crap.... that being why I don't use it either because I don't like it much.

The current state it's in is:
5 energy
1/4 second casting time
45 second recharge
For 8...18 seconds, adjacent foes cannot attack. For each foe, Amity ends if that foe takes damage.

Here's my suggestion:
Amity
5 energy
1 second casting time
25 second recharge time
For 2...9 seconds, adjacent foes cannot attack. If more than one foe was affected, you lose 5 energy.

The duration will be shorter, but if the foe takes damage, it won't be removed. In ratio with the original, you get less "shutdown" time on the attacks for more energy, but without the premature removal, I think it should balance out.

with those changes it could actually be a nice way for monks to rest a bit but still not worth it probably. Nice thing someone still thinks about such skills ^^

I agree with both posts here, I always felt that Amity was a pretty unique skill, yet is need of some serious change. I fully agree with the changes proposed in the op, and it would be great to see some monks utilizing a little-known prophecies elite

I think that 9 seconds is too long, in my opinion. After being frontline for most of my Guild Wars time, there's more than enough things that stop me from fighting effectively. I'd say lower it by some odd seconds. Otherwise, you'll get Amity spammers.

Reckless Haste + Price of Failure lasts longer and deals damaged to the hexed one...
And they're not elites.

I'd say it might be a worthwhile change. Would certainly make certain aspects of PvE easier(like the raptors...) I like the change.

Lower the recharge to around 25. That way it will take about 5 seconds before it can be used again. Change it to damage from physical attacks. That way it can still be used with a group of casters. Or cahnge it to only damage from you counting.

Over power it then nerf it that is Anets philosophy after all.

Uhmm no? doh! Why? Because if you use it on a W/Mo for GvG, it WILL screw GvG up for sure ahahhaha!!! Noone ever need to play melee anymore. No need for evade skill or whatever. Well? 9/25s? Sorry it's TOO spamable PLUS it's AoE. no thx! Beside you can use more than one Amity.

wouldn't screw up anything imoh. Hex removal and gg, and I don't think that any gvg team doesn't have enough of them...

Agreed with Chrono. No WAY this would be overpowered in GvGs. It is no difference from people casting blured vision or using blind bots. Hex and condition removal will remove this skill in 1-2 seconds. Furthermore, as it is an elite that requires a large attribute investment, it will require you to basically "waste" a team member to run this.

Even after the change it would still affect only normal attaks and attacks skills, that is, mostly warriors an rangers, since Assassins have quite a lot of spells and some touches and Dervishes have those nice AoE spells. PAragons ahve shouts to use while they can't attack.

A simple prevail in the warrior of the team would solve the first hit with this over warriors.

I don't see the change bad. In PvP, 'last less and can be casted more frequently' is better than 'cast once a last a while and last a lot'.

I'm reading the posts and there is a question if it'll mess up PvP at all.
Well, let's look at the aspects of this "suggested" skill:

1) It's a hex, it can be removed.
2) The spell lasts for 9 seconds, and with the 25 second recharge time and the 1 second casting time, the hexed player has 17 seconds to rail on the one using this skill.
3) Since the casting is 1 second long, it is very possible to interrupt it without guessing... might I say it's sad seeing rangers in PvP who just guess all of their interrupts.
4) You have to have 12 protection prayers to achieve 9 seconds. Got 11 protection prayers? That's too bad, it then lasts for 8 seconds.
5) Looking at a lot of PvP monk builds, the elite skill is generally the major skill in the build. It either immensely heals (the most of the healing prayers and some divine favor elites) or it makes it almost not worth attacking it (protection prayers elites in particular). Though this can stop people attacking you, unless if you got all of the enemies bunched up together, you're probably only going to shutdown one. And in the arenas and GvG we all know that there are casters to compliment the attackers, so this skill cannot shutdown a team. And in GvG, an elite that can heavily support the team is needed (Word of Healing being the most used in my observations).
6) The duration in ratio with the original is less, and requires more recharge time.
7) People may actually use it in PvP for a week just to experiment with the skill, so it could get annoying but, we all know it'll disappear in a week.

Yep... seems fair still.
